3–8 players
Be the first player to get rid of all your cards — by playing honestly or by lying convincingly.
Cheat (I Doubt It)

Setup

  1. 1

Deal all 52 cards as evenly as possible.

  2. 2

Decide on a starting rank — Aces is a common choice.

How to Play

  1. 1

Declaring: The first player places 1–4 cards face-down and announces what they are (e.g., "Two Aces").

  2. 2

Sequence: Play moves clockwise. Each player must declare the next rank in sequence (Ace, 2, 3… King, then back to Ace). You must always declare the current rank, but you can play any cards you like.

  3. 3

Challenging: After any play, any player can call "Cheat!" The played cards are immediately flipped over for all to see.

  4. 4

Caught lying: The liar picks up the entire discard pile.

  5. 5

False accusation: If the accused was honest, the accuser picks up the entire discard pile.

  6. 6

Winning: The first player to legally empty their hand wins.

Strategy Tips

  1. 1

Watch for hesitation, extra card-handling, or a player looking too comfortable — these often signal a bluff.

  2. 2

Occasionally play honest cards to build trust for a big bluff later.

  3. 3

Don't challenge unless you're fairly confident — picking up a large pile can be devastating.
